Abstract: Since China joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in November 2001, its economy has continued growing strongly and attracting much foreign investment, while the world’s major economies have struggled with sluggish growth or recession. WTO entry has contributed a lot to China’s ongoing strong economic performance and WTO accession has definitely meant that China’s “reform and opening” have entered a new stage. In addition, driven by its WTO commitments, China had issued, revised or nullified over a thousand laws and regulations, a process that continues today. As a consequence, since WTO the laws of China have adopted a new degree of complexity, offering new options and challenges. The article followed will discuss the impacts of accession to WTO on china and investment regulations.
