We live in a diverse world made up of many different groups all with their own set of moral norms and there is no way to choose between these competing sets. What will be right for one group will be wrong for another. Given this, managers should ignore ethics and look only to their self-interests for guidance when making decisions in their organisations.

Managers must respect employees' different moral norms. For our purpose, ethics can be defined as the code of moral principles that sets standards of good or bad, or right or wrong, in one's conduct and thereby guides the behavior of a person or group.
