Emma gives the thought over self-deceptive vanity. In the novel, there are many writing skills; here I analyze the control of distance. The paper consist of three chapters: chapter one, sympathy through control of inside view, most of the story is shown through Emma’s eyes which made readers travel with her. The maintained inside view leads the readers to hope for good fortune for the characters that he travel with．Through the
section for her self-reproach gives us a chance to see her inside view more vividly．The technique keeps the emotional response between the deficient heroine and the reader.
In chapter two，I discussed the author’s control of judgment. Jane Austin divided judgments into two kinds．The readers can make their judgments through Emma’s inside view．And also，Knightly is the chief corrective；he is the standard of judgment．The author made some shifts too，simply to direct our feeling of tenseness mystery．
