Abstract: The articles aims at discovering the unique characteristics of the rhetorical functions of Law English, one novel field in ESP, and meanwhile, compare it with those in EST. In the end, a few suggestions are made so as to promote a wide application of Law English.

摘要：本文旨在揭示专门用途英语(ESP)之一------- 法律英语的特殊的语言修辞表达`艺术特征，同时将它与科技英语的修辞表达艺术相比较以阐明它们的区别。文末提出了能够促进法律英语广泛应用的几条建议。

1. Introduction:
Recently, the learning, study and application of ESP (English For Special Purpose) has aroused considerable concern in public, especially in those countries where English is the second language and the first foreign language. With the ever-increasing globalization of the nations, the mutual and bilabial communication is more and more frequent and strengthened. The study of Law English will provide us with a great chance to know the principle, procedure, process., etc. of the Laws in English-speaking countries and as a result, draw some good points therein ,trying to perfect the laws of our own or ,at least, by comparison and contrast, we can know the facts and change and trend in world law and thus we could know more about a certain country or area . From this point of view, Law English is no doubt an effective and applicable material for us to refer to or study. And the study of it should be prudent and systematical. This article shows us quite a few characteristics of Law English, that is, the frequent employment of modals, illustrations, repetitions, and no use of visual aids as against in EST, etc. Eventually, two suggestions are made, for instance, the appropriate addition of some visual materials is necessary, to promote the largest application of Law English.
